Thank you Dogster for naming The Pongo Fund a 2015 Dogster Hero. For reminding people that The Pongo Fund is Oregon’s Pet Food Bank. Because hungry people have hungry pets.

Our award-winning and volunteer driven group that began just six years ago in the back of a Chevy Trailblazer has already provided more than 9,000,000 high-quality meals for tens of thousands of starving animals. Keeping those beloved animals safe and well-fed and at home with their families, out of the shelters.

Even on a shoestring budget, The Pongo Fund directly helps more animals than any other group in Oregon. And we have become a national model for new ways to save lives and reduce shelter populations.

Giving a chance to animals that might not otherwise have a chance and giving hope to families that have little else to be hopeful for. Because sometimes a simple bowl of kibble is the force that both keeps a family together and saves the lives of the animals they love.
